It started during lockdown when we couldn't get the glass for our bottles out of France due to COVID. We knew that people needed gin refills and urgently to get them through tough times. We even launch our limited-edition lockdown bottle now completely sold out.
This called for dramatic measures. At the time it felt like prohibition, the speak-easy era, as we launched refill from the still.
We ended up getting barrels direct from the ‘still, and with a bit of ingenuity and quite a bit of labour, we launched ‘refill from the still’. It’s now a thing.
Customers return again and again with their empty bottles of Thames Ditton Gin, even with emptyu bottles of other lesser gins: we’ve even had Martini bottles and a milk bottle.
Now that restrictions have eased, we find that people still love to pop along and have a chat as they refill their empties. This also helps with recycling and ticks the box of our collective eco-credentials, whilst of course allowing us to refill customers empty bottles at a much-reduced price.
So, pop along at the weekend or whenever our shop is open, please check our shop page for opening times, and we will gladly replenish your empty Thames Ditton Gin bottle(s) or any other bottle for that matter with our Original or Pink gin.
We’ll more than likely send you on your way with a free bottle of tonic or two as well.
